Workers of BoK employment schemes demands regularization, salary increase

PESHAWAR: The workers of Bank of Khyber (BoK) Employment Schemes Friday staged a protest sit-in demanding regularization of services and salary increase.

Addressing the protesters in front of Peshawar Press Club, their leader, Abrar Ahmad Bhatti said that about 180 employees holding master degrees are serving in various employment programmes under BoK but neither their salaries were increased not their services were regularized.

He said that employees of the schemes including Bacha Khan Rozegar Scheme, Khud Kifalat Scheme and Youth Challenge Fund Programme who were working on salaries of Rs. 17000 for the last five years were being ignored while inductions were being made in the bank from other institutions on higher salaries.

Protesters said that they have been left with no other option other than to raise voice for their rights on roads. They announced closure of all the offices of employment schemes form today onward and said that protest would continue till resolution of problems.
