Rangers kill three terrorists near Northern Bypass

KARACHI: Three suspected terrorists belonging to a proscribed outfit were killed in an encounter with Rangers personnel near Northern Bypass, Super Highway here on Tuesday.

A Rangers personnel also received injuries in the action. According to a statement by Pakistan Rangers, Sindh, the para- military force cordoned off the area after it received a tip off that some suspects were hiding near Northern Bypass.

On seeing Rangers personnel, the suspects tried to flee while resorting to firing, it added. It further said the Rangers called in reinforcement and after an exchange of fire with the suspects killed three of them, however, another suspect managed to escape taking advantage of darkness.

The deceased suspects were identified as Shamsher Khan, Attaullah alias Daud Pathan and Zaheer alias Zafeer Pathan, it said, adding that the terrorists were wanted in several target killing incidents, police killing, extortion, gang rape, dacoity, kidnapping for ransom and attack on the para-military force.
