FPCCI appreciates PM's voluntary tax scheme

KARACHI: Leadership of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) has welcomed the voluntary tax scheme announced by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and said this will help boost trade and industrial activities along with strengthening the government and private sector relationship.

In a statement here Friday, FPCCI's Senior Vice President and Secretary General of United Business Group (UBG) in FPCCI, Zubair Tufail and Spokesman of UBG, Gulzar Feroze said the FPCCI leadership remained engaged in talks with the Federal government and succeeded in making this scheme acceptable to the business community in general.

The Prime Minister and Federal Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar had acknowledged our effort in this regard, they said.

They said that with introduction of the voluntary tax scheme, the tax net would be widened and the tax burden over the existing tax would be reduced.

Gulzar Feroze said that the government had come up with the relief package for the business community, which showed the business community was seen as the backbone of the national economy.
