Law, order improvement enhancing confidence of investors: Ebad

KARACHI: Governor Sindh Dr. Ishrat Ul Ebad Khan has said that improvement in the law and order situation in Karachi was also enhancing the confidence of the foreign investors.

He was talking to World Bank's Practice Manager, Ming Zhang, who called on his at the Governor House here on Wednesday.

He said that the interest of the foreign investors, World Bank, the international financial institutions in the mega projects of Sindh and Karachi, as well.

Dr. Ishrat pointed out that Karachi is the commercial hub of Pakistan and improvement in its law and order was enhancing the confidence of the foreign investors.

He said that Karachi's mega projects included K-IV, S.-III, Rapid Bus Transit which consists of Green, Yellow, Orange and Red projects. Work on six corridors mentioned in the mega projects would be initiated soon and some would be completed in one to two years.

The Governor said that the network of the surveillance cameras would be completed soon.

He was of the view that there was a need to speed up the development projects in Karachi.

Dr. Ishrat believed that it was an ideal opportunity for the international financial institutions to finance or establish partnership in such projects,

Ming Zhang said that with the improvement in the law and order the confidence of the foreign investors was also on the increase and they are taking interest in investment in the province and the city.

He said that it was our desire to carry forward speedily the bilateral projects and we want that mega projects be taken up soon.

The Governor said that for these projects, the government would provide one-window facility and complete cooperation would be extended.
