Court orders police protection of PML-N Councilors-elect

HYDERABAD: The Sindh High Court has ordered the Tharparkar police to provide protection to two councilors elected from Town Committee Nanagarparkar on the ticket of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

According to the details, the Councilor elect Sardar Khan Khoso in his petition maintained that he was receiving threats since winning the local government polls from ward 2 of TC Nangarpakar on November 19.

The petitioner's counsel advocate Bhagwandas Bheel told the court that the opponents belong to the ruling party in the Sindh Government who were threatened Khoso and Jalu Kohli, who was elected from ward 3.

They were being harassed and warned of being booked in fake FIRs if they did not resign, he added.

The Hyderabad Circuit Bench while ordering the police to provide protection to the petitioner and the ward coucilor Kohli put the respondents on notice for January 26, 2016.

The respondents include DIG Mirpurkhas, SSP Tharparkar, SHO Nangarpkar and the Pakistan Peoples Party's local leaders Abdul Ghani Khoso, Ghulam Qadir Khoso and Ali Muhammad Khoso.
