PML-N takes lead in MC RY Khan in LB polls

RAHIM YAR KHAN: Pakistan Muslim League-N won 29 wards seats, independent candidates 15 seats, PTI 4 seats and PPP 2 seats of Municipal Committee (MC) Rahim Yar Khan in the third phase of local bodies elections on Saturday.

According to unofficial results, the LB polls on 139 union councils, and 7 municipal committees were held in the district.

In Sadiqabad, PML-N took lead with 23 seats in LB polls of 44 wards of Municipal committee, independent 16 seats, PPP 3 seats, PTI and JI 1 seat each.

Similarly, PPP secured 1 seat in 39 wards of MC Khanpur, independent candidates 33 and PML-N bagged 3 seats.

In 20 wards of Liaqatpur, PML-N secured 6 seats and independents won 14 seats.

In Zahir Pir, PML-N secured 9 seats out of total 17 wards, PPP 5 and independent candidates won 3 seats.

In Tiranda Swai Khan, PML-N secured 8 seats out of the total 12 wards, PTI won one seat and independent candidates got 3 seats.

Independent candidates won in total 12 wards of Kot Samaba Municipal committee.

In 139 union council seats of district Rahim Yar Khan, chairman and vice chairman of PPP were elected on 64 UC seats, PML-N's chairman and vice man have been elected on 55 UC seats, PTI's chairman and vice chairman succeeded on 3 UC seats while independent candidates were elected on 17 UC seats.
