97 more dengue cases in Karachi

KARACHI: Despite the tall claims of the provincial government of Sindh, there is no respite in dengue viral fever cases in the province, especially its capital city Karachi; the main reason of which very poor sanitary conditions of the metropolis.

As many as 100 more dengue fever cases have been reported across the Sindh province in last week, out of which 97 were detected from Karachi city.

According weekly report issued by Dengue Prevention & Control Program Sindh, a total 3,289 dengue fever cases were reported from Sindh province from 1st January 2015 to till time, out of which 3,212 were detected from Karachi city. Ten people died from dengue fever in the city this year so far.

Report stated that 100 dengue fever cases were emerged across the province from 16 November to 22 November 2015, out of which 97 were reported from Karachi, one from Hyderabad and two from Jamshoro.

Report further stated out of total 3,289 dengue fever reported cases, 3,212 were reported from Karachi, 31 from Hyderabad, nine from Larkana, eight from Mirpurkhas, seven from Umerkot, five from Jamshoro, four from Shaheed Benazirabad, three each Thatta, Sukkur & Ghotki, two from Sanghar, one each from Shikarpur and Jaccobabad.
