Govt making all out efforts to control hazards of climate change

SIALKOT: Federal Minister for Climate Change Zahid Hamid has said that the government was making all out sincere efforts to control the hazards of climate change in the country, adding that effective steps could be helpful in ensuring the provision of pollution-free atmosphere to the people in the country.

He stated this while talking to the newsmen here at Sialkot on Monday. Local MPAs Ch.Muhammad Ikram, Mansha Ullah Butt, Ch. Munawar Gill, Sialkot DCO Dr. Asif Tufail, Ali Zahid Hamid and the others were also present on this occasion.

The Minister added that Climate change has become the global reality and almost the whole world acknowledges it. It is considered one of the most dangerous phenomena of 21st century. This phenomenon poses serious threat to various countries. Pakistan is considered one of the most vulnerable countries facing the threat of climate change.

He revealed that Pakistan is the sixth most populous country in the world. It is geographically located in a region that is likely to be affected most by climate change. Pakistan is included in the list of top ten countries which are the most vulnerable to climate change.
