Senate Chairman exhorts students to acquire education, serve country

KARACHI: Senate Chairman, Mian Raza Rabbani, has urged the students to concentrate towards acquisition of knowledge and then serve the country in an effective manner as part of the duty.

He was addressing as chief guest at the annual convocation 2014- 15 of Habib Public School here on Saturday.

On the occasion, he distributed certificates among 178 students of the school.

Habib Public School Karachi is also the alma mater of the Senate Chairman.

Some of the ex-students and the classmates of Mian Raza Rabbani also attended the ceremony.

On the occasion the Senate Chairman congratulated the passing out students and asked them to continue acquiring education and then serve the country and its people as part of their duty.

He reminisced his students day at the institution and said that he had learnt a lot during his stay at the Habib Public School.

The Principal of the School, Nargis Alvi, presented the vote of thanks.

Later, talking to newsmen, the Senate Chairman paid rich tributes to the senior leader of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Makhdoom Amin Fahim, who passed away in Karachi on Saturday morning.

He also praised the principles politics pursued by the late politician who, he added, always struggled for the promotion of democracy, rule of law, supremacy of constitution and for the cause of democracy.

Mian Raza Rabbani said that the principles pursued by Makhdoom Amin Fahim should be emulated by all the politicians.
