ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has said the visit of Chief of the Army Staff General Raheel Sharif to the United States is a follow-up of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif's visit to the United States.

Talking to a news channel, he said that the Army Chief went there to discuss military-to-military matters with the US military leadership.

He said that the matters relating to peace in Afghanistan was one of the top agenda of his visit.

He reiterated that Pakistan would play its due role for peace in Afghanistan.
