Sindh is rich with mineral deposits: Manzoor Wasan

KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Food, Mines and Minerals, Manzoor Hussain Wasan on Thursday said that Sindh province is enrich in minerals.

He said that local and international companies will be leased through open-market under the open-merit policy for minning so as to develop local industry and generate more employment opportunities.

The Sindh Minister said this while chairing a meeting at his office in New Sindh Secretariat here.

He directed the official concerned to introduce all sites of mineral reserves on the website of the Mineral Department.

He said that since he has taken over the office of the Minister of Mines and Minerals Development, not a single minning lease has been issued.

He said that the land sites which had already been given on lease for minning purpose would be probed.If the work has yet not been started on the leased minning site, the lease should be canceled or auctioned in the open market to give opportunity for investment, he added.

Sindh Secretary Mines and Minerals Development, Pervez Sehar and officials concerned of district headquarters were also present on the occasion.
