Partridges, See-See hunting allowed for two months

LAHORE: Director General Wildlife Khalid Ayaz Tuesday said that it has been decided to open the hunting of Partridges and See-See in 31 tehsils for two months from December 1, 2015 to January 31, 2016.

Presiding over a special meeting regarding hunting season here, he said that the decision has been made in the light of the proposals received from the Regional Deputy Directors and Honourary Game Wardens. The administrative department has been requested to issue a notification in this regard, he added.

Khalid Ayaz said that it has been ensured in the permission that the hunters should not hunt all wildlife so that their breeding could continue.

He said that 31 tehsils of the province open for hunting of Partridges and See-See included Hassan Abdal, Pindi Ghaib, Kalar Saidan, Taxila, Talagang, Pind Dadan Khan, Kot Momin, Bhalwal, Bhakkar, Khushab, Mianwali, Gujrat, Kharian, Phalia, Gujranwala, Wazirabad, Hafizabad, Pasrur, Daska, Zafarwal, Muridke, Sharaqpur, Nankana Sahib, Chunian, Pattoki, Depalpur, Chak Jhumra, Samundari, Toba Tek Singh, Gojra, Ahmedpur Sial, Bhowana, Chichawatni, Pakpattan, Kabirwala, Mailsi, Kehror Pakka, Shujabad, Layyah, Muzaffargarh, Jatoi and Kot Chitta.

The Director General Wildlife said that hunting of all kinds will be prohibited in national parks and other places declared safe by Wildlife Department.

He said that Partridges and See-See will be hunted under Schedule (I) of Bag Limit Amendment Act 2007. Automatic weapon, repeater guns, vehicles and jeeps will be prohibited for hunting.
