Sindh registers 7th dengue haemorrhagic induced death on Thursday

KARACHI: Sindh registered its 7th dengue haemorrhagic fever induced death here Thursday with Tassawar Hussain, a ward boy at Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Centre being the latest victim of this year.

Sindh Dengue Control Programme Manager, Dr Masood Solangi sharing details of the casualty with APP said 40 year old Tassawar Hussain, son of Akram, was a resident of Hazara Colony, Kalapul, Saddar Town.

Around 3000 cases of dengue fever have been reported from across the province in the current year with vast majority belonging to Karachi.

The disease largely self limiting turns life threatening in case of haemorrhagic due to persistent high grade fever and severe dehydration.
