Transparency hallmark of Punjab government: Shahbaz Sharif

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif Thursday said transparency, standard and speed in the execution of projects are the hallmark of Punjab government.

He was presiding over a meeting which reviewed the pace of implementation of public welfare projects.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said modern and economical transport facilities were being provided to the common man. He said that the projects aimed at provision of facilities to the masses will be continued.

He said third-party audit of development projects had been made compulsory for ensuring transparency. Shahbaz Sharif said Lahore and Pakistan metro bus projects had been highly appreciated by the masses as many people were reaching their destinations daily by metro buses. He added that work was being carried out round-the-clock on metro bus project in Multan.

Similarly, he said, implementation of Orange Line Metro Train project had also been started in Lahore with the cooperation of China. He said that metro bus system had greatly benefitted people.

Managing Director Mass Transit Authority, MD NESPAK, Chairman Punjab Information Technology Board, DG LDA and concerned authorities attended the meeting whereas Hanif Abbasi, Commissioner Rawalpindi Division and other senior officials participated in the meeting through video conference from the office of Commissioner Rawalpindi.
