The two-member bench of the apex court headed by Justice Amir Hani Muslim heard the case and directed Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan to submit a comprehensive report after reviewing all reports submitted by the provincial governments regarding NGOs' registration.
During the course of proceedings, authorities of three provinces submitted their reports before the court.
Justice Amir Hani Muslim remarked that the formulation of a policy regarding NGOs was not the duty of court rather it was the responsibility of the government.
Justice Dost Muhammad Khan observed that terrorism was a major issue of the country and it was also mentioned in the National Action Plan (NAP) that funding of the terrorist groups would also be closed.
Additional Advocate General Punjab Razzaq A. Mirza informed the court that the provincial government had already formed a sub-committee in this regard.
The Additional Attorney General also appeared before the bench and assisted the court on the matter.
