LAHORE: Punjab government spokesman Syed Zaeem Hussain Qadri Monday rejected Aitzaz Ahsan's allegations regarding corruption in the metro bus project and said about 200,000 people travelled by the facility daily which showed its importance.

Commenting upon the statement of PPP leader Aitzaz Ahsan, he said every penny was spent on development projects in Punjab in accordance with the Constitution and law as the Transparency International had also described all these projects in the best interest of the people.

He said that cases against Sharif brothers were registered on political basis during the tenure of Pervaiz Musharraf and despite all his efforts, no allegation could be proved.

Zaeem Qadri said that Asghar Khan case would be faced. People, he said, were fully aware of the reality of these cases.

He said that people have supported the politics of principles of Sharif brothers by expressing confidence in them in the general elections. By criticizing the metro bus and other public welfare projects, the opponents of the government were showing their enmity to the masses.
