Five killed, nine injured in road mishaps

KARACHI: Five people were killed and nine others injured in different road mishaps in the metropolis on Saturday.

A man, aged about 35, was killed when a speeding vehicle hit him near Edhi Center in Sohrab Goth. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for an autopsy.

In another accident, a man, Noor Rahman, 32, son of Shairwan, was killed when two trucks collided in Post Qasim area.

The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities.

A man, Din Muhammad, 35, son of Faqir Muhammad, died while, another 20-year-old boy and a youth, aged about 24, were injured when a boiler blasted in a factory near Kabadi Market in Shershah. The bodies and injured were shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi.

A man, Shafiq, 28, son of Mughal, was electrocuted at his home in Ghous Pak Colony in Korangi. The body was shifted to JPMC for medico-legal formalities.

An unknown man, aged about 30, died to consuming poisonous substance in Ayesha Manzil area. The body was shifted to ASH for a postmortem.

Mahmood, 25, son of Hashim, was injured by a vehicle on Superhighway. He was brought to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment.

In another road mishap, three members of same family, Yasir, 40, his wife, Faiza, 32, and their son, Hammad, six year were injured when their motorcycle was hit by a rickshaw in Korangi No. 1. They were shifted to JPMC for treatment.

Three youths, Shoaib, 25, Fazal, 20 and Abdul Aziz, 28, were injured when a motorcycle collided with a van near Suzuki Company in SITE area. They were brought to ASH for treatment.
