ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Thursday termed the federal governments report about Non Governmental Organisations (NGOs) unsatisfactory and directed to submit new report with complete record.

A three-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja, comprising Justice Dost Muhammad Khan and Justice Qazi Faez Isa heard the case regarding funding and registration of NGOs.

During the course of proceedings, Justice Dost Muhammad Khan remarked that the report submitted by the federal government was incomplete as it was not mentioned in the report that the government sought any kind of help from the agencies.

He observed that report did not mention that the NGOs from where got funds and how they use funding.

The Chief Justice remarked that it was a sensitive matter and only ordinary issues were discussed in the report. He observed that there was no mechanism to check the funding of NGOs.

The court directed the federal government to submit new report and adjourned hearing of the case for an indefinite period.
