Ration bags being taken to stranded flood hit people: DCO

LAYYAH:District administration has started surveying flood hit areas to prepare damage assessment report as rescuers continued mobile relief operations transporting ration bags and food for cattle heads in low lying inundated areas of district Layyah.

DCO Rana Gulzar Ahmad visited relief camps set up at Basira, government girls Islamia high school, government MC high school, and government girls high school TDA colony on Friday and reviewed the arrangements to facilitate the flood affected people.

He told the affected people that initial survey has been launched for assessment of damage caused to crops and belongings of the people. He added that the people who opted to remain in their homes despite flood were being provided ration bags by boats.

Incharge flood relief camps, assistant commissioner Chobara Jam Aftab Hussain informed DCO that cooked food was being provided at flood relief camps three times a day, besides clean drinking water, medical facility and food for cattle heads.
