Govt to rebuild houses of flood-hit people: Shahbaz

LAYYAH: Punjab Chief Minister, Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said on Tuesday the government would rebuild houses of flood-affected people and also support them till they return to their homes.

Addressing a gathering of flood affected people here at Bakhri Ahmed Khan, he said the government stood by the people, adding that every kind of facility would be given to the people affected by the flood.

He said the government would continue relief, rescue and rehabilitation process till all the people were resettled in their homes.

He said that all possible efforts would be made to compensate the losses of flood-hit areas, adding that task had been given to district administration for compensation of losses of crops, houses and animals.

Schools and other institutions destroyed by the flood would be made functional soon after flood, the CM added.

Commissioner D.G Khan Saqib Aziz, RPO Rehmat Ullah Niazi, DCO Rana Gulzar Ahmed, DPO Ghazi Salah Uddin, MPA Mehr Ejaz Achlana, MNA Syed Saqlain Bukhari and other officers were also present.
