CM reviews flood situation, protective measures

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on Monday reviewed flood situation, protective arrangements and relief activities in south Punjab and issued necessary instructions to Provincial Cabinet Committee on Flood and administrations concerned in this regard.

He said that Cabinet Committee on Flood and administrations of concerned districts should complete all protective arrangements in time to cope with flood.

He said that timely evacuation of people of the areas where there was a threat of flood should be ensured and all out measures should be taken for the protection of life and property of citizens.

He said that no excuse would be acceptable regarding safe evacuation of the people and every need of the flood affected people would be fulfilled.

Shahbaz Sharif said that flood affected people would not be left alone and all out resources were being utilized for their assistance, adding that every effort would be made to serve the affectees. He said that Pakistan Army, administration, police, Rescue-1122 and other concerned institutions were working in an active manner.

The Chief Minister while issuing instructions for accelerating relief activities in the flood affected villages of south Punjab said that abundant stock of necessary medicines should be available in medical camps.

He said that additional boats should also be sent to the affected villages of south Punjab. He directed that every effort should be made with regard to protective arrangements and relief activities.

He said that flood affectees would be rehabilitated on the pattern of 2010.
