ISLAMABAD: Former captain of Pakistan Cricket Team Ramiz Hasan Raja has said that the inclusion of some young players has injected new energy and spark to the team which was lacking since long.

It was good to have young blood in the team as the fielding of the side had improved remarkably and the energy could be witnessed in the field, he said in his post-match analysis after the fifth and final one-day International against Sri Lanka.

Raja was of the view that the national team played really well against Sri Lanka under the leadership of Azhar Ali.

It was pertinent to mention that Pakistan had won the ODI series 3-2 against the Islanders at their soil after nine years despite a heavy margin defeat in the last ODI.

Expressing his views about the upcoming T20 International series, he said Mukhtar could play at the opening spot with Ahmed Shahzad while Umar Akmal in the middle order.

Raja said Sohail Tanvir could also make place in the playing eleven due to his orthodox bowling action and variations.

Meanwhile, talking to a news channel, former captain Amir Sohail advised Pakistan cricket team to prepare itself for big events.

He said Pakistan should prepare well for series against England as the latter was playing excellent cricket and that it would not be easy to defeat it.
