ISLAMABAD: Former Captain of National Cricket Team Ramiz Raja has lauded the performance of Muhammad Hafeez against Sri Lanka saying that the one-down batsman played like a champion throughout the ODI series.

Hafeez had now become an experienced and elderly figure in the team and he seemed to be well aware of this responsibility, Raja said in his post-match analysis.

He said the advantage of Hafeez at No. 3 was that he play spin quite efficiently and effectively.

It was pertinent to mention that Hafeez had scored 236 runs in first four One-Day Internationals with an average of 59, besides taking six wickets in first two matches after he was banned by International Cricket Council (ICC) over suspected bowling action for one year.

Ramiz advocated the inclusion of Umar Akmal in One-Day side and said Akmal was an impact player who had immense talent but a little immature at the same time.

He hailed the overall performance of the national side and insisted that Pakistan should remain consistent in their performance.

He also lauded the performance of opener Ahmed Shahzad, saying that it was good to see Shahzad back in form after he was dropped against Bangladesh and Zimbabwe.

The former captain further said it was welcoming to see that Pakistan's bowling attack was also got strengthened as it now contained wicket takers.
