Sindh Govt collects Rs55mln as Agri Tax in 2013-14

HYDERABAD: The provincial government has collected Rs. 55 Millions in respected of Agriculture Tax for the year 2013-2014 from 2918 growers of Hyderabad division.

The Additional Commissioner-I Sajjad Haider Shah who is also the Convener of the Monitoring Committee of Income Tax Recovery for Hyderabad Division said while presiding over a meeting here on Thursday.

Giving details about the recovery of Agriculture Tax, he informed that Rs. 8749619 was receioved from 249 growers of Hyderabad district, Rs. 9894571 from 387 growers of Matiari district, Rs. 1820719 from 22 growers of Jamshoro district, Rs. 1574932 from 377 growers of Tando Muhammad Kha district, Rs. 1126375 from 270 growers of Sujawal district, Rs. 6683153 from 714 growers of Badin district, Rs. 22215410 from 633 growers of Tando Allahyar district, Rs. 1549375 from 205 growers of Thatta district and Rs. 1237686 have been from 61 growers of Dadu district.

The Additional Commissioner-I asked to all Additional Deputy Commissioners of the division to gear up the process of the recovery of Agriculture Tax from their respective districts.

He also directed them to have close contacts with the growers, guide them and ensure the recovery of Agriculture Tax in time.

He also directed them to issue notices to all those growers who are reluctant to pay Agriculture Tax and also initiate action against those revenue officers who found negligence in the duty.
