Three terrorists killed in encounter identified

LAHORE: Punjab Home Minister Col (Retd) Shuja Khanzada said on Wednesday that three terrorists who were killed by law enforcement agencies in Kala Shah Kaku area, a couple of days ago, have been identified.

Addressing a press conference, he said that terrorists were identified as Faisal Mubashar, Saqib Hussain and Abdali, belonged to Al-Qaeda. He said that one of the terrorists had blown himself up while another injured terrorist Muhammad Noman had been arrested.

An official of law enforcement agencies was also injured by the firing of terrorists. Modern weapons including four suicide jackets, four klashnikoves, a rocket launcher and other weapons were recovered from their possession.

The minister revealed that terrorists were ploting to attack the intelligence bureau headquarters on The Mall. He told journalists that head of Al-Qaeda in subcontinent was an Indian national, now who was staying in Afghanistan.

Regarding the attack, he revealed that terrorists had received 5-month training in Afghanistan before they were sent to Pakistan.

Three of the terrorists arrived in Lahore via WANA, he said.

Shuja Khanzada further revealed that one of the terrorists killed was the head of Al-Qaeda in Pakistan.

He congratulated the law enforcement agencies for their successful operation against the terrorists.
