Chaudhry Nisar inaugurates three mega road projects

RAWALPINDI: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan along with Provincial Parliamentary Secretary Chaudhry Sarfraz Afzal here on Sunday inaugurated three mega road projects.

The minister inaugurated a flyover, repair, reconstruction and widening of Airport, High Court and Adiala roads. The work would be completed at a cost of Rs 1.1 billion.

Reconstruction of Airport Road, laying of sewerage line and construction of a flyover from Chohan Chowk to Koral Chowk would be completed in 12 months at a cost Rs 540 million and the project would make the Airport Road signal free.

High Court Road project would also be completed in 12 months at a cost of Rs 310 million and it would facilitate the residents of Bahria Town, Gulraiz Colony and Chaklala Scheme III.

Reconstruction of Adiala Road from Kalyal to Gorakhpur would cost Rs 280 million.

Chaudhry Nisar also addressed a small public meeting. The people informed the minister about power load-shedding issue. Chaudhry Nisar said it would be overcome soon as the government was making streneous efforts to end load-shedding.

Later, talking to media, provincial Parliamentary Secretary Chaudhry Sarfraz Afzal said that he and the residents of PP-6 were thankful to Chaudhry Nisar and Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif for giving special attention to the road projects.
