Bollywood Legends in Trouble For Endorsing Maggi

03 Jun, 2015

Maggi recently came under the scanner after samples collected by Food Safety and Drug Administration were reported to be containing Mono Sodium Glutamate (MSG) and lead more than the permissible limits. The sample contains lead 17 times more than the stipulated limit, which is considered hazardous.

According to Indian media reports, there were no comments from the company but the case has been filed against the three film stars who have claimed the instant noodles as healthy in their TV promotions. These film stars have earned hefty sums by terming Maggi noodles as healthy in advertisements and this wrong publicity amounts to malafide intentions and playing with the health of the kids and young people of the country.

However, actress Madhuri Dixit who recently appeared in an ad campaign by Maggi took to Twitter to react to the recent controversy and said, “Nestle has reassured me that they adhere to stringent testing for quality and safety and are working with the authorities closely”.

“Nestle explained that they always place the consumer first and have the highest quality standards,” she added.
