Polling for LG election 2015 concludes, counting of ballot papers starts

PESHAWAR: Polling for Local Government election 2015 was peacefully concluded in Khyber Pakthunkhwa and counting of ballot papers was started in presence of polling agents of the candidates.

The polling was started at 8AM in all 24 districts except Kohistan and was peacefully ended at 5pm. However, voters within the premises of polling stations were allowed to cast their votes.

Later, the counting of ballot papers was started in presence of the polling agents of the respective candidates.

The unofficial results would be displayed at prominent places of the polling stations soon after completion of counting process besides dispatch of the results to ECP and DRO concerned.

The elections in some union councils/wards were postponed due to different reasons including misprinting/non-printing of the candidates names/election symbols and violence related incidents and its schedule would be announced later on.

However, overall the LG election was smoothly held with no untoward incident has been reported from any part of the province.
