PARIS: Fourth seed Tomas Berdych won through to the third round of the French Open on Wednesday, beating fellow Czech player Radek Stepanek 6-3, 6-7 (7/9), 6-3, 6-3.

After a match that lasted more than three hours on Court One, Berdych advances to a third-round tie against unseeded Frenchman Benoit Paire.
