1,91,183 TDP families repatriated to FATA, NA told

ISLAMABAD: Parliamentary Secretary for Cabinet Secretariat Raja Muhammad Javed Ikhlas on Monday informed the National Assembly that so far 1,91,183 families of Temporarily Dislocated Persons (TDPs) from Federally Administrated Tribal Areas (FATA) had been repatriated.

During Question Hour, he said 72895 families belonged to Bajaur Agency, 41196 Khyber Agency, 21937 Kurram Agency, 36759 Mohmand Agency, 505 North Waziristan Agency, 7379 South Waziristan Agency, 8660 Orakzai Agency and 1852 from FR Tank.

Parliamentary Secretary said that no foreign funds have been received by FATA Disaster Management Authority (FDMA) as federal government sanctioned Rs 760.909 million for TDPs Camp Baka Khel FR Bannu established for North TDPs and Rs 27.672 million for payment of electricity charges bills of Jalozai Camp Nowshera and Tough Sarai TDPs Camp Hangu wherein FATA TDPs are residing at present.

He said that an amount of Rs. 80 billion will be incurred for the rehabilitation of the TDPs over a period of three years and of the total, Rs. 20 billion have so far been released while remaining amount will be released accordingly.

Javed Ikhlas said the work is also underway for reconstruction of destroyed infrastructure, adding that an amount Rs 0.4 million is being paid for each completely destroyed house while Rs 0.16 million for the partially destroyed houses.
