During Question Hour in the House, he said that in the case of AJ&K being a special territory, the subject of education was already in the domain of Government of AJ&K. Hence, the Ministry of Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan was not directly dealing with the subject of education relating to the AJ&K.
He said, however, the Ministry was facilitating the AJ&K in the following areas of education including stipends for students of AJ&K, coordination for admission in professional institutions of Pakistan as per quota, distribution of laptops amongst students, construction of medicals colleges through PSDP and schools repairs.
Hamid said that the Ministry was also facilitating Gilgit-Baltistan in the following areas of education included distribution of laptops, coordination for admission in professional institutions of Pakistan as per quota, recent announcements of the Prime Minister of Pakistan regarding establishment of Baltistan University at Skardu, and establishment of Karakuram International University campuses at Diamer, Ghizar and Hunza-Nagar, construction of Cadet College, Chilas, regularization and enhancement of honorarium to basic education community schools (BECS).
