Foreign brand liquor seized

KARACHI: Pakistan Coast Guards (PCG), seized 1993 bottles of fine quality of foreign brand liquor worth around Rs 22 millions, from coastal highway near Uthal Balochistan.

The PCG officials received information from intelligence sources about the smuggling of liquor in general area Lyari, Balochistan, said a press release here on Monday.

A special mobile team was detailed for snap checking that tried to stops a suspicious Mazda truck. However, the driver did not stop and tried to escape.

The PCG officials chased the truck and after few kilometers managed to stop it.

On first look, it seemed it was loaded with bundle of old newspapers. On detailed search, the PCG officials recovered liquor concealed under old newspaper.

One trafficker along with Mazda truck was taken into custody. Further investigation and legal process is underway.
