Progress linked with education: CM

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that a Knowledge Park of international standard is being set up in the provincial metropolis and it will be the first educational center of international standard in South Asian region.

Presiding over a high level meeting regarding Knowledge Park here on Monday, he said that students from Pakistan and other countries would be able to get admission in educational institutions to be established in the Knowledge Park.

The chief minister said the Knowledge Park would bring about a revolution in the education sector in South Asia and residential facilities for teachers and local and foreign students, shopping mall, recreation center and other facilities will be available in the Knowledge Park.

He said a dream of progress could not be realized without education and it was also necessary for overcoming terrorism, extremism, poverty, unemployment and other issues.

He said in view of the importance of education, Punjab government had taken revolutionary measures for development of the education sector and setting up of the Knowledge Park was also a step in this direction.

Foreign consultant gave a detailed briefing on the project.
