Govt to complete its tenure: Ghafoor Haidri

MULTAN: Deputy Chairman Senate Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidri on Thursday said that next general election would be held after the completion of constitutional tenure of the incumbent government.

Talking to media persons at Jamia Qasim-ul-Aloom here, he said that it was not an environment that Parliament could be dissolved in 2015.

He said they too had reservations over results of the past general election since 22 members of his party were got defeated in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province by 'hidden forces'. However, he refused to comment over 'the elements' behind the defeat.

He endorsed Karachi's operation as it should be continued till the restoration of peace. He said the operation was launched after consultation with all parties.

He hailed passing of 18th amendment that resulted in just distribution of powers and resources to the four provinces.

He vowed to continue raise voice for down-trodden segments in the Senate, like doing before in the past.

Earlier, Pasban Rickshaw held out rally in favour of JUI-F that concluded at Qasim-ul-Aloom seminary after passing through different areas of the city.
