Agreement with Qatar to import 200 mmcfd LNG to be signed soon: Shahid Khaqan

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said on Thursday that an agreement with Qatar to import 200 mmcfd LNG would be signed soon.

Addressing a press conference, he said there will be no restriction for any sector to import LNG.

Import of LNG would save around one billion dollars annually, he added. He said second terminal of LNG would be set up at Gwadar port.

The Minster said a delegation of Qatar company would visit Pakistan next weak.

To a question he said there will be no embargo on the import of LNG. He said Pakistan required around 800 mmcfd LNG to meet its requirements.
