Zardari for medical, relief camps in KPK

KARACHI: Former president Asif Ali Zardari has expressed profound grief over the devastation by torrential rains and flash floods in Peshawar, Swabi and other parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) on Sunday evening.

The PPP co-chairman asked the party's provincial president to set up emergency medical and relief camps to help alleviate the sufferings of the affected people, said a press release issued here on Sunday.

He said special efforts should be made to look after the needs of women, children and old persons. Senior party leaders should visit the affected people and personally monitor the situation, he added.

Zardari offered condolences to the bereaved families over the deaths of their loved ones. He also expressed sympathies over material losses.

He prayed for the early recovery of the injured.
