China accords top priority to Pakistan in its Foreign Policy

ISLAMABAD: Former Diplomat Akram Zaki said here on Monday that China accords top priority to Pakistan in its Foreign Policy.

While talking in special transmission of Pakistan Television he said China believed that prosperity was intertwined and that regional prosperity was supreme to it.

Moreover, owing to geo-strategic position of Pakistan, China accorded top priority to Pakistan in its Foreign Policy similar to the one which United States of America gave to Britain in development, he added.

Akram Zaki said , focus should be on enhancing and cementing trade ties.

Endorsing Zaki's point of view in the programme, analyst Muzammil Sabri said emphasis should be laid on exports to China as Pakistan is major exporter of sports, surgical, leather etc. goods to other countries.

Answering a question, former diplomat Akram Zaki said, China was making decade-wise progress and it plans to share its development with any other regional country.

Elaborating, he said, now its upto Pakistan that how it moves along and takes benefit of Chinese expertise as China was also delivering its technical assistant to Pakistan.

In the field of energy alone, Zaki said, China was ready to take Pakistan out of crisis and with the help of China, out of total 10400 MW projects worth dollars 20 billion investment, projects with capacity of 8000 MW were entering into advanced stage.
