Historic agreements to be signed during Chinese President visit: Shahbaz

MURREE: Big Chinese investment companies and experts of energy, infrastructure, transport and other sectors met Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif here on Sunday and discussed promotion of cooperation in various sectors including energy and investment.

Talking to Chinese investors, Shahbaz Sharif said that the entire world is astonished over the announcement of investment of 46 billion dollars by China in Pakistan.

No doubt, there is no example of such extraordinary investment in the history of the country, he added.

He said historic agreements to be signed during the visit of Chinese President also include 20 billion dollars only for energy sector.

He said after completion of energy projects by the end of 2017, 10400 megawatts more electricity will be generated which will help in overcoming energy crisis.

Chief Minister said that the projects of generating 2500 megawatts electricity are being implemented in Punjab and all of them are being forwarded speedily.

He expressed the hope that these projects will start generating electricity by 2017.

He said hydel as well as coal, gas, solar and other alternative sources are being utilized for generating electricity to resolve energy crisis.
