LCCI urges govt to consult business community on market closure

LAHORE: Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) has urged the government to resolve the issue of early market closure in consultation with the business community.

LCCI Senior Vice President Mian Nauman Kabir in a statement here on Friday said decision of early market closure should not be implemented without due consultation with traders.

He said the government should take the business community on board while having such trade related decision and also launch awareness campaign through print and electronic media regarding energy conservation.

Nauman Kabir said not only ongoing power projects should be completed on war footing but new hydel power projects should be launched immediately as energy demand was growing with every passing day.

He urged the government to allocate sufficient funds for the construction of big water reservoirs.
