Rs1.62bn allocated for development projects

BAHAWALPUR: A sum of Rs1.62 billion have been allocated for the construction of 232 kilometers long roads under Chief Minister's Rural Development Programme.

According to Commissioner Bahawalpur Division, Saqib Zafar, 15 roads will be constructed in Bahawalpur district, 7 in Rahim Yar Khan and 6 in Bahawalanagar.

He said that at present some 6000 kilometer long roads are connecting rural areas with the urban and construction of new roads will give a better access to farmers and growers to get their products to the markets.
