Police arrest accused involved in robberies, extortion

HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad police have arrested a an accused involved in robberies and extortion from the businessmen of commercial areas in Auto Bahn Road, Thandi Sarak and Qasimabad.

A police spokesman informed here Monday that the suspect Aslam Wassan alias Aslu was arrested in injured condition from Latifabad Unit 5 during an exchange of fire with police near protective embankment of Indus river.

The Fort police arrested suspect Babur Shah alias Kala who was nominated in 33 FIRs of murder, kidnapping, extortion, robberies and street crimes after an encounter, in an injured condition.

The spokesman said that Kala had escaped from the snap checking of Makki Shah police at Nazeer Hussain flyover but he was again caught while passing through the Naka.

He informed that Kala and another suspect riding with him on the motorbike opened fire on police after which the other suspect managed to escape but Kala fell from the bike after sustaining a gunshot to his leg.

The injured was shifted to the Civil Hospital for treatment.
