Anti-encroachment operation continued in city

PESHAWAR: The joint anti-encroachment mid-night operation of district administration and municipal corporation launched on the directives of the Deputy Commissioner (D.C), Peshawar, Riaz Khan Mehsud remained continue for second consecutive night.

Those participated in the operation were included Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Osama Ahmad Warraich, Assistant Commissioner (A.C), Mumtaz Ahmad, Chief Municipal Officer (CMO) Saleem Khan, Additional Assistant Commissioner (A.A.Cs) Haseeb-ur-Rehman Khalil, Mohammad Shoaib, Mohammad Fawad, Regulation Officer, Rehman Khattak, demolition staff and a heavy contingent of police.

Before the initiating of operation the road of Nauthia Jadeed was closed for all kind of vehicular traffic and heavy machinery was used for the demolition of 40 years old encroachments.

Speaking on the occasion, Administrator, Municipal Corporation Peshawar (MCP), Syed Zafar Ali Shah said that the operation aimed at the beautification of the city will continue. He urged the shopkeepers to bringing their shops into limits and should avoid encroachments.

The administration MCP also warned of stern action against those reestablishing encroaching which beside a cash fine of Rs. 50,000/- also comprised of three month imprisonment.
