Pakistan Day celebrated at Pak Consulate in Dubai

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan National Day was celebrated on Monday at the Consulate General of Pakistan, Dubai with national zeal and fervor.

According to a message received here, a large number of UAE based Pakistanis from all walks of life attended the ceremony.

Consul General of Pakistan Javed Jalil Khattak hoisted the national flag at the consulate's premises, while the national anthem was played.

Khattak also read out the messages of the President and the Prime Minister to the audience. He mentioned the great sacrifices rendered by the forefathers for a separate homeland. Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, the founding father of the nation, envisioned a country where Muslims could lead their lives according to their own values and traditions, while the non-Muslims would also be free to practice their own religion, he said.

The Consul General stressed the need to forge unity among the ranks and file of the Pakistani community. He said that the nation had witnessed many challenges and measured up to each one with resilience and resolve.

He extended warm felicitations to the Pakistani community residing in the Emirates and asked them to work tirelessly for the progress and development of UAE and Pakistan.

A cake-cutting ceremony was also held to commemorate the Pakistan Day. The ceremony concluded with the resolve to make Pakistan a progressive, prosperous and peaceful country.
