Independent judiciary key to boost business activities: ICCI

ISLAMABAD: A delegation of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) led by its President Muzzamil Hussain Sabri visited Islamabad High Court Bar Association to congratulate Raja Muhammad Aleem Khan Abbasi on being elected as President and other new office bearers on winning election here on Thursday.

Rana Abdul Latif Vice President, Sardar Shaukat Hayat General Secretary, Ms. Zareen Kanwal Finance Secretary, Ms. Wajiha Pervez Joint Secretary and a large number of Executive Member of IHC Bar Association were present at the occasion, according to statement issued by ICCI.

Speaking at the occasion, Muzzamil Hussain Sabri, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry said that independent judiciary was the key to boost the economy as the growth of business and investment activities was directly linked with a fair and independent judicial system.

He said Islamabad High Court Bar Association could make significant contribution for this purpose. He hoped that IHC Bar Association would play a constructive role for ensuring early settlement of business community's court cases.

President, Islamabad Court Bar Association, Raja Muhammad Aleem Khan Abbasi, appreciated the role of business community that always provided support to lawyers in their struggle for independence of judiciary.

He said that associations and civil society should work together for ensuring speedy justice in the country.

He said that close liaison between ICCI and IHC Bar Association was important to address the court related issues of business community as well as of the civil society.

He assured full support of lawyer's community for protecting the rights of trade and industry.

Both organizations discussed many issues of mutual interest and resolved to work together for promoting the cause of business and lawyers fraternities.

Muhammad Shakeel Munir Senior Vice President, Muhammad Ashfaq Hussain Chatha Vice President, Abdul Rauf Alam, Tariq Sadiq, Khalid Iqbal Malik, Muhammad Ejaz Abbasi, Khalid Chaudhry, Saeed Ahmed Bhatti, Naeem ur Rehman Paracha, Babar Chaudhry, Salahuddin Awan, Musharraf Janjua, Amin ur Rehman and others were included in ICCI delegation.
