Water inflow in rivers surges to 151,171 cusecs

ISLAMABAD: Water inflow in rivers has surged to 151,171 cusecs against the outflow of 181,894 cusecs owing to the recent rainy spell.

According to the Indus River System Authority (IRSA) the water inflow in Indus at Tarbela was recorded as 29,600 cusecs against the outflow of 45,000 cusecs.

According to the data released by IRSA, water level in the Indus River at Tarbela Dam was 1442.02 feet, which was 62.02 feet higher than its dead level 1380 feet.

Similarly, water inflow in river Jhelum at Mangla was recorded as 38,677 cusecs against the outflow of 55,000 cusecs.

The water level in the Jhelum River at Mangla Dam was 1113.70 feet, which was 73.70 feet higher than its dead level of 1040 feet.

The inflow of water at Kalabagh, Taunsa and Sukkur was recorded as 118,626, 58,415 and 38,595 cusecs respectively.

Similarly, from the Kabul River a total of 54,300 cusecs of water was released at Nowshera and 27,594 cusecs released from the Chenab River at Marala.
