Health department official told APP on Monday that anti-polio teams with an assistance of volunteers and lady health workers provided oral polio vaccine to 18994 children under five years of age during the recently concluded thee days drive.
He said police and other law enforcement agencies provided security to the field staff during door to door campaign. The official said parents and relatives of the children extended full support to the staff. The official said deputy commissioner personally supervised the campaign.
The official also appreciated security forces for providing congenial atmosphere to the anti-polio staff during the vaccination campaign in remote and far flung areas of Lower Dir.
