On Thursday, while talking to media Hafeez said his injury will take maximum two weeks to recover but, according to PCB report recovery of Hafeez’s injury is uncertain.

According to local media reports, the Pakistani player would require at least three weeks to recover from his injury. At the same time, it is not guaranteed that he would remain a hundred percent fit throughout the tournament after regaining fitness,’ said an excerpt of Hafeez’s report. “He has been advised two to three weeks rest by the doctors so he is out of the World Cup,” Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) spokesman Raza Kitchlew quoted as saying.

Hafeez appeared to be annoyed during his press conference at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. He said, “From what I have learnt in Australia and Pakistan from the medical panel, I would have recovered in two weeks’ time. I got injured on February 3 while our match against India is on February 15, so I would’ve regained my fitness. But the touring management called me and told me that they have asked for my replacement”.

He seemed to be very disappointed because he had struggled to perform best in an extravagance event and now he is out of it. “I’ve been performing well since making my ODI comeback and even after being banned from bowling, I performed well with the bat,” he added.

Hafeez were confident about Pakistan team and hoping that the team will encounter team India well and will win the match against arch-rival India.
