LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Wednesday dismissed a petition against illegal custody of an accused involved in dacoity at the residence of former Chief Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani's brother.

The single bench comprising Justice Aalia Neelam was hearing the petition filed by Sughran Bibi for the recovery of his son Mushtaq, from illegal custody of Kasur police.

Earlier, accused Mushtaq was produced before the court by the bailiff and police.

Accused Mushtaq told the court that the police tortured him and he was threatened. The petitioner's counsel requested the court to issue orders for medical examination of the accused.

However, the police told the court that the accused was involved in 18 heinous crimes including dacoity at residence of former chief justice's brother.

The court dismissing the petition ordered police to produce the accused before the local magistrate. The court also directed the petitioner's counsel to file application for medical examination before the magistrate.

At this, the accused raised hue and cry in the court but the police managed to take him out of the court premises.
