Reforms being introduced in education, health, law and order

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on Friday said reforms were being introduced in education, health, law and order and other social sectors to provide maximum facilities to the masses.

Addressing a meeting here, he said an effective system of check and balance was essential for the provision of best services to the citizens, therefore, the Punjab government was introducing a system of reward and punishment in the provincial departments and institutions.

He said the purpose of this step was to encourage the officers and staff showing good performance and to hold inefficient officials accountable.

The chief minister said that targets had been set in education, health, law and order and other social sectors at the provincial and district level while concerned departments and institutions would have to play an active role to achieve the targets.

He added that education and health sectors were directly linked with the masses and there was a need to achieve the targets set in these sectors for bringing improvement.

The chief minister said that it was necessary to work as a team and show results to come up to the expectations of the people.
