Holistic policy of govt to attract foreign investment

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Board of Investment, Dr. Miftah Ismail has said that Pakistani missions abroad could work considerably to attract foreign investment in different sectors in the country.

Talking in Nuqta-e-Nazar programme of Radio Pakistan, he said that a number of foreign investors were interested in making investment in energy sector in Pakistan.

Ismail said that the incumbent government is following the holistic policy to attract foreign investment in the country.

He said that Pakistan had abundant coal reserves and foreign investors could explore new horizons and avenues for investment in Pakistan.

Taking part in the programme, renowned economist, Dr. Shahid Hassan Siddiqui said that economic diplomacy was must for swift financial prosperity and development of the country.

He said that foreign investors have adopted positive approach towards Pakistani market.

He said that Pakistan would succeed in attracting a huge foreign investment after concluding war on terror.

He said that China had come up with new silk route programme and China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would prove as a prelude in this direction.

He added that China could become major investor in different sectors of Pakistan.
